InterComFilm Distribution S.A. was founded in March 2000, and the object of activity is theatrical film distribution.

Presently, the company is Licencee for Sony Pictures and Warner Brothers, and it is the number 1 film distribution company on the market.

Although InterComFilm was founded in 2000, the backgrounds go back in 1992, when GFR Distribution was founded, as the first private film distributor on the Romanian film market. In the beginning, GFR was distributor for Warner Brothers, and Columbia Tristar Pictures. In 1995, 20th Century Fox gave the vote of trust to GFR, so, we became also the Fox Distributors.

In March 2000, InterCom RT bought 51% from the GFR shares, thus forming a joint venture, InterComFilm Distribution SA, which now is known as the most powerful film distributor in Romania.

Although the name and ownership have changed, the team remained mostly the same, with the same passion and experience for the film business, and even more dedication for fulfilling the needs and requirements of the Studios.

For 16 years, our company is the main distributor on the market. Our market share was always situated between 40 – 52%, depending on the number of films distributed each year.

In order to adjust best to the needs of every Studio that we represent, our organizational chart was conceived with one person dedicated to each Studio, a person that does all the necessary steps for launching a film; marketing, sales, reporting.
